Grok 4.6 on Amazon Bedrock

Mainly relevant if your organisation already builds on AWS/Bedrock — you can now call Grok 4.6 through the same Bedrock console and billing as other models, rather than setting up a separate xAI account. Useful for teams standardising their AI vendor management on AWS.

What changed

Grok 4.6, xAI's latest flagship model, is now generally available on Amazon Bedrock for developers in supported AWS regions. It offers a 500k-token context window and configurable reasoning effort, priced at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens.

Why it matters to your work

Mainly relevant if your organisation already builds on AWS/Bedrock — you can now call Grok 4.6 through the same Bedrock console and billing as other models, rather than setting up a separate xAI account. Useful for teams standardising their AI vendor management on AWS.

When this could help

When an AWS-based application needs a long-context (500k-token) model with configurable reasoning effort, and the team wants to keep model access inside Bedrock.

Grok 4.6 is now generally available on Bedrock, so teams already using Bedrock for other models can add Grok 4.6 with the same AWS billing, IAM, and tooling instead of a new vendor integration.
