GPT-6 and Intelligent UI in ChatGPT

Useful for anyone who asks ChatGPT everyday questions that are easier to see than read — comparing options, splitting a bill, or working through a calculation. Instead of a wall of text, ChatGPT now automatically picks the clearest format and starts showing an answer while it keeps working.

What changed

ChatGPT can now automatically combine text, visuals and interactive elements to fit a question — for example side-by-side comparisons, diagrams, or tools like calculators and bill splitters — choosing a plain text answer when that works best. GPT-6 can also start answering while it is still thinking or using tools, then add further findings without needing another prompt. Rollout starts for Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise in the Chat tab today, expanding to Free and Go the next day (Enterprise availability depends on workspace admin settings). Plus/Pro/Business/Enterprise use GPT-6 Sol and Free/Go use GPT-6 Luna; the Pro "Extra High" reasoning option uses GPT-6 Astra and does not support Intelligent UI. Models used for Work and Codex are unchanged.

Why it matters to your work

Useful for anyone who asks ChatGPT everyday questions that are easier to see than read — comparing options, splitting a bill, or working through a calculation. Instead of a wall of text, ChatGPT now automatically picks the clearest format and starts showing an answer while it keeps working.

What to try next

Next time you ask ChatGPT something that is easier to see than read, like comparing two options or splitting a bill, try it and see if ChatGPT shows you an interactive tool instead of plain text.
